What is a home physiotherapy visit?

A home visit means one of HSR’s HCPC-registered physiotherapists comes to you, carrying out the same assessment, treatment and advice you’d receive in clinic, but in your own home.

Who is home physiotherapy suitable for?

Home physiotherapy can suit anyone who finds it difficult or inconvenient to travel to a clinic — including people recovering from surgery, managing long-term conditions, dealing with mobility or balance difficulties, or simply preferring the convenience of care at home.

What happens during the first visit?

Your physiotherapist will discuss your symptoms, history and goals, carry out a physical assessment, and agree a personalised treatment plan with you. See our "What to expect from your first home visit" section for more detail.

Does the physiotherapist bring equipment?

Your physiotherapist brings the equipment needed for assessment and treatment on the day. If any specific equipment is required for your ongoing plan, they’ll discuss this with you directly.

Do I need a GP referral?

In most cases you can book directly without a GP referral. If you’re unsure whether this applies to your situation, get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise.
